PolarGuard EPS Insulation
PolarGuard EPS Insulation Planks are high quality insulating foam panels that may be used alone or in tandem with other insulating products to increase the thermal performance of the overall system.
Conventional insulation techniques often do not account for energy loss through wood or metal studs, which can total as much as 20% of a wall area. To remedy this problem, PolarGuard Insulation Planks are applied over exposed framing or directly to a building’s sheathing to create an effective “thermal break” against heat conduction through wall studs. As PolarGuard Insulation Planks are porous, they will not act as a vapor barrier thereby allowing walls to breathe out moisture while keeping a building cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. PolarGuard Insulation Planks can also help to effectively eliminate drafts around windows and doors.
Heat loss through uninsulated foundation walls may represent as much as a 30% total heat loss in an otherwise well insulated structure. PolarGuard Insulation Planks may be applied to the interior or exterior of foundation walls to provide a simple and cost-effective means of closing this otherwise costly gap in a building’s overall efficiency.
PolarGuard Insulation Planks are offered in three panel sizes (4’ X 8’, 2’ X 4’ and 2’ X 8’) and three thicknesses (3/4”, 1” and 2”) and can be easily fashioned into any desired shape with a simple blade knife.
PolarGuard Insulation Planks offer many advantages including:
- Permanent R-Value over the life of your home.
- Non-Toxic materials, safe for the environment, too. No CFC's or HCFC's.
- The most trusted insulation in Europe and around the world.
- Easy installation
- Lower cost per R-Value.
PolarGuard Insulation Planks are manufactured from Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), a thermoplastic, closed cell, lightweight, rigid foam plastic which features low thermal conductivity, thereby making it especially well suited as insulation.
